Where they stand on data centers
On concerns about hyperscale data centers
Power consumption, water consumption and health issues are major concerns. The electromagnetic frequencies (EMF's), cancer risks, decibel levels, blood brain barrier permeability causing toxins getting into the brain (per RFK, Jr. litigation), neurological injuries (RFK, Jr. testified to having 10,000 studies). Placing these in agricultural areas removes land from production, just as windmills and solar farms are doing. The fact that less than 2% of our country is involved in ag now, we should be aware of the conversion of land to data centers. More awareness needs to be given to the negative issues that will affect our health.
How they’d address those concerns
As a Commissioner I would carefully weigh the "costs" against the "benefits" of proposed data centers. Setbacks and other parameters would need to be established. I would resist all tax breaks or taxpayer giveaways for any proposed data center projects.
