Where they stand on data centers
On concerns about hyperscale data centers
For residents that are aware of the locally proposed and the nationally built data centers, the main concerns revolve around utility increases, fair taxing, and health concerns. The biggest concern, however, is in the failure in transparency and communication on a matter that directly impacts residents’ futures.
How they’d address those concerns
As a councilor, I would vote against any data center or zoning petition for any data center that does not have a majority vote by the people. In addition to requiring a vote, I would also propose ordinances to ban data centers from developing AI and regulate the amount of electricity, water, and noise consumed and produced by data centers. Appreciate you for taking the time to compile this site and information!
